We handcraft every piece in Mykolaiv, Ukraine.

We work with a small local production team and produce in limited batches. This allows us to focus on quality, avoid unnecessary overproduction, and create thoughtfully rather than in excess.

If something sells out, we may make another small batch, but we never aim for mass production.

Producing in Ukraine is also our way of supporting skilled people in our home country and helping them continue doing what they love despite the challenges of war.

We personally source and test every fabric, paying attention to durability, comfort, water resistance, and wind performance. We believe that good design starts with an understanding of every material we work with.

Behind every piece, there is a person. Our seamstresses are deeply involved in every stage of the process, from fabric patterns and construction to the finishing details. Their skill, care, and attention to detail are at the heart of everything we design.

Meet the Founders

Darya looks after operations. Polina leads the creative side of the brand.

Beyond that, we would rather let the product speak for itself. We believe the best way to understand someone's values is through what they create, how they treat people, and the small details they choose not to overlook.

After leaving our home country when the war started, we both moved to Hove, East Sussex, where we met in 2025 and quickly became friends. We decided to start an adventure together, combining our complementary skills and knowledge to build something rooted in the experience and passion we both had developed in Ukraine.

“For me, MTP is a way to share my vision of what I would like to bring into the world. We live in a world that often feels unstable and, at times, hostile. I would like to see more kindness, more joy, and more genuine reasons to smile.

Some of the things that make life better are also the simplest: walking your dog, spending time with the people you love, or just enjoying an ordinary moment together. I want the brand to capture that feeling, bringing a little fun and warmth into everyday life, and maybe inspiring people to see things a little differently and do something kind for others, especially for our four-legged friends.

If seeing a dog in one of our raincoats on the street makes you genuinely smile, then that’s exactly what I had in mind.”

“Growing up, I spent a lot of time in my parents' small sewing workshop. That's where I learned a lot about how the business works, from finding the right materials to understanding cuts and patterns. When I was 24, I started my own children's clothing line. Just as it was growing rapidly, the war changed everything. When I met Polina in the UK, I realised that our skills complemented each other, and that was the beginning of Mad Tea Party.

I'm inspired by the process and by people who genuinely care about their work. I pay attention to the details of how something is made, how it can be improved, and how to make it better.

For me, quality comes from consistency, precision, and respect for the work behind every product.”
